God promised everything
to the Son as an inheritance, and through the Son he created the universe. The Son radiates God’s own glory and
expresses the very character of God, and he sustains everything by the mighty
power of his command. Hebrews 2(b), 3(a) (NLT)
Scientists have discovered a sort of “cosmic glue,”
a force that holds things together. That force has a name–Jesus, the Sustainer.
He holds the elements that maintain the universe. If He relaxed His hold . . .
Selah (pause and think about that.)
The
Sustainer of all things keeps impeccable records. Besides noting details like
birth date, height, weight and death of every human on earth, not a single
animal of any species dies without His notice (Luke 12:6,7). He makes pathways in the oceans for marine
life and at the same time hears and answers calls for help that ascend from
earth. His interests take in all of creation on, above and below the
earth.
Christ upholds, maintains, guides and propels the
universe (Hebrews 1:2-3). All things are forever under His control (Matthew
28:18(b). “Our moment-by-moment existence depends on His gracious sustenance of
every electron, every atom, every molecule and every spiritual entity.”

Let’s ask ourselves: Are we viewing the universe
through the eyes of a godless media or through the eyes of the Bible?
We can trust the Sustainer with everything that
concerns us for “in Him all things were created, things in heaven and on
earth, visible and invisible, whether thrones or dominions or rulers or
authorities. All things were created through Him and for Him. He existed before
anything else, and he holds all creation together. Col. 1:16,17
The
One who holds all things together holds you.
Prayer:
Lord, teach me to trust you when things look like they’re coming apart. You’re
the Sustainer, the glue that holds all things together.

So much said in a few brief paragraphs, Rose! The Scriptures certainly make lofty claims about Christ, God's Son. It's interesting and good to see that the physicist you quote agrees wholeheartedly with them, concerning His being "the Sustainer" of all things. In our hearts, we know it is true and have the Divine "Amen" sounding within our beings. ~~+~~
