There is little tolerance for different viewpoints and points of view. I've received communication demanding an explanation of why, me, as a Christian, could speak favourably of particular candidates. Fortunately I'm not easily intimidated nor feel the compulsion to explain (but it's as simple as this: I drink coffee and not tea, yet tea will always abide peacefully in my cupboard as I prepare it for a visitor or family member.) Chesterton he more than hinted at a form of political correctness arising from tolerance, as you quote him saying: "that tolerance sometimes leads to timidity where people become afraid to even mention their religious views."
